Planning For the Life You Want!
Planning For the Life You Want!
My name is Dr. LaJeanne C. Grinnage, CEO & Founder of Rite of Passage Project LLC. It is my joy to share my 20 years of experience of working with students in areas such as college admissions, financial aid, ACT/SAT test prep, and writing to help students plan and give them practical tools to create the life they want.
Rite of Passage Project LLC provides academic and emotional support for youth and adults who struggle with test anxiety and/or want additional support to feel better prepared for their current college or future college of their choice. We work with students on some of their study skills, mentoring them as we keep them focused on the life they want to create, preparing them for the SAT and ACT, assisting them with the entire college admissions process, and developing their writing skills as early as 7th grade up to the doctoral level.
Over the last 10 years, Rite of Passage Project LLC has worked with students throughout the United States to help them get results that they thought weren't possible. For example, we have had students increase their ACT scores by 10 points and SAT scores by 300 points. We have also assisted students get accepted and ultimately graduate from colleges who never thought they would be able to go to a 4-year college.
We offer customized plans for individual students, small groups, and schools/civic organizations. Currently, our program is also a vendor in the third largest school district in the United States - Chicago Public Schools.
Applying to college can be overwhelming, but we're here to help. Every student is student. Every situation is different. We are here to help you figure out what your plan needs to be. Our team can provide guidance on every aspect of the application process, from choosing the right schools to crafting compelling essays.
Have you ever had someone walk you through how to take a standardized test versus taking a regular school test? Many students haven't and often think they can't test well. Rite of Passage Project has helped students change their minds and change their results. Our unique approach of meeting students where they are, mentoring them, walking them through how to take a standardized versus a regular school test, and providing some tips on developing their study skills has helped students get test scores that they thought were impossible.
Great writing can get you into doors and keep you out of them. Whether a student plans to go to college after high school or wants to be an entrepreneur, having strong writing skills is essential. As early as 7th grade, we work with students to develop and grow their writing ability. Developing a strong writing ability early makes writing scholarship essays, college application essays, research papers, dissertations, cover letters, resumes, and business proposals easier later.
